Home Theater Sound Proofing
Home theater sound proofing can be a good idea if you like your movies on loud while other members of your household are trying to work or sleep.
There are several options for sound proofing and how well they work depends on where your home theatre is located and how much noise you want to get through. If your home theatre is below a bedroom for example it may be a good idea to soundproof the ceiling or if it is in a family are you may want to soundproof the walls.
This is not as expensive as it sounds. Soundproofing when it is not industrial is more sound dampening that actually blocking out sound all together. You can fairly inexpensively dampen down the sound from your home theatre room so it doesn’t disturb other members of your household.
There are several products available. You can purchase rolls of foam which adhere to walls and ceilings to muffle any noise. You can also purchase acoustic panels. These are shaped like egg boxes and are not only more effective in blocking noise from exiting the room but they also create a better sound quality within the room as the sound won’t echo and reverberate.
